In this segment of Begin Japanology, it introduces you to Aquariums in Japan. 1882 was the first year an aquarium was built in Ueno. There are about 100 aquariums in Japan (20% of the worlds aquariums are in Japan). They show whale sharks, jellyfishes to sea turtles and blue fin tuna (kuro maguro).
