This is an older edition of BEGIN Japanology on 2013.05.02 titled: Breads. It was an interesting edition that I felt all of you would enjoy. I didn't know, but it was in the 16th century that bread with brought to Japan from Portugal. Most of us only know "Japanese Soku-pan" and "anpan", but there are a lot of variations of breads in Japanese culture.
